Description

Are you interested in learning more about career opportunities with Irish in the European Union’s institutions? Would you like the opportunity to attend a workshop with staff from the EU institutions focusing on your preferred linguistic career?
The European Commission and the Irish Government are organising an event on Wednesday, 2 November as part of the annual Oireachtas na Samhna festival, this time in Killarney.
The event is aimed at informing potential candidates about job opportunities with Irish in the EU institutions and providing concrete practical advice.
The event will begin as a plenary session in the Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney with presentations from a range of experts – see programme. During the late morning, the first of the interactive workshop sessions will take place on site (see programme and after a break at lunchtime, online versions of many of the workshops will be available (please note that the second interpreting workshop will take place on site only). Your preferred slots can be booked at this link.
People who attend the on site workshops are welcome to attend a second workshop during the virtual part of the programme, provided that they can find their own quiet space to do so (the rooms used during the morning sessions will not be available).
We will stream the morning Plenary Session online, but would encourage people to attend in person to avail of the full interactive potential of the event (networking and workshops in particular).
Please note that registration is essential and workshop participation must be booked in advance.
An attendance certificate can be provided to third level students upon request and upon completion of the programme.
