Description
Announced by the President of the European Commission in her State of the Union address in September 2021, the European Year of Youth is dedicated to supporting young people across Europe as we emerge from the pandemic. It highlights the importance of European youth in building a better future – greener, more inclusive and digital. The year will focus on encouraging young people to become active and engaged citizens and promoting the various opportunities available to them across the EU.
This event will explore the importance of a year focused on youth. Speakers will outline their vision for the year ahead and how they hope to engage with young people in Ireland.
More information on the European Year of Youth can be found here.
Speakers include:
- Maria Walsh, MEP for Midlands Northwest
- Lorraine Gilligan, Executive Director of Léargas
- Harry McCann, Founder, Digital Youth Council
The event will be moderated by Barbara Nolan, Head of the European Commission Representation in Ireland
