The European Commission announced today that it has decided to start infringement procedures against Ireland in the fields of: Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs; Digital Economy; Mobility and Transport; Environment; and Justice.

Cork and Dublin ports are to receive multi-million euro grants for sustainable, safe and smart transport infrastructure. The grants come from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) which is the EU’s programme for strategic investment in infrastructure.

The European Commission has disbursed to Ireland the first payment for €324 million in grants under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
