President von der Leyen to deliver her State of the Union 2021 on Wednesday 15 September

Every year in September, the President of the European Commission delivers the State of the Union address before the European Parliament, taking stock of the past year and presenting priorities for the year ahead.

On Wednesday morning 15 September, President Ursula von der Leyen will deliver her annual State of the Union address.

Also known as the 𝗦tate 𝗢f 𝗧he 𝗘uropean 𝗨nion, it is the speech the President of the European Commission delivers before the European Parliament every September.

The President will set out how the Commission will address the most pressing challenges the European Union is facing and ideas for shaping the future of the EU.

The speech will be followed by a plenary debate with members of the European Parliament.

It will be broadcast live on Europe by Satellite (EbS) from 8 am Irish time on Wednesday 15 September
