European Commission Representation in Ireland marches in the Dublin Pride Parade 2025

Representatives from the European Commission Representation in Ireland paraded through the street of Dublin on Saturday 28 June to highlight European values of equality and inclusion.

Dublin Pride is one of the biggest public events in Ireland, second only to St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The theme of the parade was ‘Taking Liberties’. Ireland marked a very important anniversary this year as it has been a decade since the adoption of the Gender Recognition Act.

The Representation joined the Diplomats for Equality group during the parade. This is a group of Embassies representing countries from all over the world that share the values of equality and inclusion.

By taking part in the parade, we declared once again that everyone in the EU has the fundamental right to be treated equally. In the EU all people and all communities should have their voices heard. The EU stands against discrimination and works hand in hand with the national governments to design and implement policies aiming to eradicate homophobia and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
