Description
In the form of a culture trail,participating organisations will invite members of the public to explore the possibilities of plurilingualism, by dipping into the culture and language of a variety of countries.
The new festival aims to promote language learning and an interest in plurilingualism through a series of linguistic and cultural activities – see the current list of events below.
The afternoon culture trail will follow a conference taking place on the same morning entitled ‘Inspiring Plurilingualism: Stakes and Perspectives in Europe’. For further information about the conference and for registration information, please click here.
Both events are being coordinated by the Embassy of France in Ireland to mark France’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union and are being organised in conjunction with the EUNIC-Ireland network and the European Commission.

The Greek School of Ireland will present snapshots from its online language classes for children of all ages and for adults as well as classes on Greek mythology and traditions in order to give a taste of how fun and interesting it could be to learn Greek. The Greek School, accredited and regulated by the Greek Ministry of Education and run by the Hellenic Community of Ireland since 2003, offers Greek Language classes for children and adults of all levels. Europe House: the Embassies of Poland and Portugal, the European Commission and Post-Primary Languages Ireland. Two schools will visit Europe House to explore the value of multilingualism, to learn some key phrases in Polish and in Portuguese and to try their hand at a quiz about languages.
