Europe: The Power of Together

Join us in telling your EU story

To mark Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the EU, we are launching Europe: The Power of Together.

Through this storytelling social media activation, we invite your organisation, institution, or business to:

  • Reflect on what European membership has meant to your work and lives.
  • Publicly share your European story.

There is no better moment for Irish voices to speak up about what Europe means to them during Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

With Europe: The Power of Together, we want to capture the full spectrum of what Europe means, including:

  • Shared values
  • Cross-border collaboration
  • Inspiration
  • Innovation
  • The quiet, everyday ways that being part of something larger shapes who we are

We believe everyone in Ireland has a European story worth telling, however small or unexpected.

Get involved

Who is this guide for?

This guide is for any organisation, institution, or business in Ireland that wants to take part and tell their EU story.

Because the EU is more than a funding mechanism. It is a community of shared purpose.

When to share?

We invite you to share your stories from the first weeks of July, when Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union officially begins.

To help keep the activation alive throughout the Presidency, we'd greatly appreciate follow-up posts over the six-month period.

Not sure where to start?

Here are five content themes with specific story ideas. Mix and match, or use one as a starting point:

  • Human moments and everyday Europe

A “day in the life” of a team member working on a European project.

A staff member who moved to Ireland from another EU country and became part of your team.

  • Celebrating milestones

A project that won a European or international award.

A piece of research published in a European journal or presented at a European conference.

  • Partnerships across borders

Something your organisation learned from a European counterpart that you still use today.

A joint research project with another European university.

  • EU values in action

An inclusion or equality initiative supported by European networks or frameworks.

Environmental or climate work that connected local action to a wider European commitment.

  • Behind the scenes

A conversation at a European conference that led somewhere unexpected.

A student placement or Erasmus exchange that shaped someone's career.
